Custom Designs
Suzanne Furst ASIF, CID has carved out quite a career for herself in the 16 years she’s been an interior designer. In October of 2003 she will become the next president of the American Society of Interior Designers/Los Angeles Chapter and she is currently serving a three year term as an Advisor on the President’s Executive Council of Woodbury University. She has even appeared in Barron’s Who’s Who Table Top Book, 100 Top Designer’s Favorite Rooms, as well as other publications.
As an independent designer, Furst does custom design from concept to completion. This covers not only décor, but architectural detailing, floor plans, lighting design, custom furniture, cabinetry, draperies, area rugs and bedding-pretty much everything you can think of.
Though she focuses mainly on her practice, Furst finds time for community service. She has volunteered her skills at charities such as the Ronald McDonald House, the foundation for the blind, USC Children’s Hospital, the Pasadena and Wellness community Showcase Houses, Divine Design and most recently Dining by Design. She has picked up letters of commendation along the way. Furst’s most recent recognition was an award for the promotion of Design Excellence from her Professional Organization.
“I want to continue on a more public level to meet the needs of the community while promoting public awareness of the interior design profession,” says Furst when asked about her future goals. “I’d like to create design that inspires me and changes people’s lives for the better, not only on a visual level but in a way that uplifts them on an emotional level.”
